United Supermarkets is Officially Coming to Wolfforth

A 15-Year Vision Realized

In 2010, United Supermarkets made its first investment in Wolfforth by purchasing land at the corner of Donald Preston Drive and Cambridge Avenue. That early move sparked local excitement and speculation about the potential for a full-service grocery store in our rapidly growing community.

In 2018, residents welcomed the opening of the United Express at that site, a sign of momentum and a promise that United was committed to serving Wolfforth. Still, the question lingered: When will we get a full United Supermarkets store?

Today, we have our answer.

The United Family has officially announced plans to construct a full-service United Supermarkets in Wolfforth, with construction beginning in Spring 2026. The new store will rise just behind the existing United Express, bringing with it modern amenities, local jobs, and everyday convenience.

“We know the community needs a full-service United Supermarkets location. We are pleased to inform the community that it is on its way!”
Sidney Hopper, President of The United Family

This long-anticipated development represents more than just a new grocery option—it’s a landmark moment in Wolfforth’s economic story. The store will feature next-generation services like:

  • A full-service pharmacy with drive-thru
  • Streetside grocery pickup and delivery
  • Fresh Ready Meals and in-store bakery
  • Full-service floral, meat market, and more

Details on groundbreaking ceremonies and store design will follow in the months ahead.

“We are incredibly proud to welcome United Supermarkets to Wolfforth. This project is more than just a new development; it’s a meaningful investment in the quality of life for our residents.”
Danielle Sweat, Director of Economic Development

United’s announcement also highlights the importance of strategic partnerships and patient collaboration. As noted by Gary Andrews, Vice President of GRACO Real Estate Development, “It’s an honor to be part of delivering a store that supports the tremendous growth of the Wolfforth community and the Frenship School District.”

Mayor Dr. Charles Addington echoed this sentiment, calling the project “a monumental milestone” that brings “essential resources and exciting momentum for continued commercial growth.”

From its land purchase in 2010 to today’s official announcement in 2025, this project reflects Wolfforth’s steady rise as a destination for families, businesses, and major retailers alike. We’re thrilled to finally say it:

United Supermarkets is coming to Wolfforth. And it’s going to be worth the wait.
