Together with the area’s higher education institutions, Wolfforth’s K-12 school system keeps residents and businesses in step with a fast-moving world, generating global skillsets and deeper, more diverse knowledge at every level.

Frenship ISD: Launching great lives with a strong K-12 start.

One of the top-rated systems in Texas, Frenship promotes great outcomes and expansive outlooks: The high school graduation rate is above 98% in a district where 30 different languages are spoken.

And Frenship graduates start adulthood both college- and career-ready. In 2022, students earned more than 500 industry certifications through 90 CTE courses across 26 programs of study, including:

  • Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources
  • Architecture and Construction
  • Business, Marketing and Finance
  • Health Sciences
  • Information Technology
  • Manufacturing
  • STEM
  • Transportation, Distribution and Logistics

Frenship also gives students a jumpstart on college with dual enrollment at South Plains College and at San Angelo State University. San Angelo’s FAST program (Financial Aid for Swift Transfer) allows students to take dual credit courses at no cost, eliminating tuition, course fees and textbook costs.

South Plains Community College: Expanding options, assuring excellence.

This highly regarded community asset prepares students for immediate career placement and for transfer to four-year institutions. South Plains’ 30 CTE programs include accounting, business, computer information systems and industrial manufacturing, and boast a 95% graduate placement rate when calculated over a three-year period. While most transfer students choose to continue their education at Texas Tech, others are able to transfer to colleges across the state.

And for expert no- and low-cost custom training, South Plains is local industry’s high-value development partner; for qualified projects the Texas Skills Development Fund provides up to $1,800 for each trainee.

Texas Tech University: World-changing R1 leadership.

This Carnegie R1 institution is known for the high caliber of its academics, for the range of its programs across 13 colleges, and for the transformational knowledge produced by the University’s 60 research centers and institutes. Texas Tech graduates leaders across many fields, including law, medicine and business. According to a 2019 Corporate Recruiter College Graduate Ranking poll, Texas Tech grads are among the most sought after in the nation, ranked #9 and lauded for their skills in tech, data analysis and teamwork, and for their adept approach to innovation.
