WEDC Proudly Supports Frenship Teachers and Students

October 21, 2025

At the Wolfforth Economic Development Corporation, we believe that a strong community starts with strong schools. That’s why we’re so proud to support the Frenship Foundation for Leadership and the incredible work it does for our teachers and students.

This fall began with one of the most joyful traditions in Frenship ISD — Prize Patrol Day! More than $80,000 in teacher grants were delivered across all 16 campuses, funding creative classroom projects, new technology, and hands-on learning experiences. The smiles, cheers, and pure excitement said it all, these grants make a real difference in the day-to-day lives of both teachers and students.

A few weeks later, the Foundation hosted its first-ever “Evening in Big Cat Country” gala at Kitalou Gin, and what a night it was! Under the stars, our Frenship family came together to enjoy live music from Josh Weathers, delicious food, cozy fire pits, and even a s’mores bar. Frenship High School culinary and floral design students added their own special touch with beautiful desserts and stunning fall florals.

WEDC Executive Director, Danielle Sweat, serves on the Foundation’s Board of Directors and had the honor of co-chairing this inaugural gala. The event, presented by West Texas Land Guys, raised vital funds for Teacher Grants and Character Scholarships that directly benefit classrooms and students throughout Frenship ISD.

As a former Frenship teacher herself, Danielle knows firsthand how meaningful this support is.

“When we invest in our educators and students, we’re investing in the heart of our community,” she said. “The Foundation brings that vision to life in such a fun, impactful way.”

The WEDC is proud to stand beside the Frenship Foundation for Leadership, helping ensure that Wolfforth and Frenship continue to grow together, both in opportunity and in heart.
