Wolfforth Earns Back-to-Back Economic Excellence Recognition
March 4, 2026
The Wolfforth Economic Development Corporation has once again been recognized for its commitment to professional economic development practices, earning the 2025 Economic Excellence Recognition from the Texas Economic Development Council (TEDC). The award was presented during the TEDC Winter Conference held in El Paso on February 27, 2026.
This marks the second consecutive year the WEDC has received this recognition.
The TEDC Economic Excellence Recognition program honors economic development organizations across Texas that meet a high standard of professionalism and organizational effectiveness. Recipients are evaluated based on several criteria, including professional development of board members and staff, industry certifications, professional memberships, and demonstrated commitment to best practices in economic development.
For Wolfforth, the recognition reflects the continued effort to build a strong, forward-thinking economic development program that supports the city’s rapid growth and long-term prosperity.
“This recognition means a lot to our organization because it reflects the commitment of our board of directors and the support of the Wolfforth City Council. They have allowed us to build a strong, professional economic development program that is focused on doing things the right way for our community,” said Danielle Sweat, Executive Director of the Wolfforth Economic Development Corporation.
As Wolfforth continues to expand, the WEDC remains focused on attracting new investment, supporting existing businesses, and helping shape strategic development opportunities that benefit residents and employers alike.
Receiving the Economic Excellence Recognition for a second consecutive year underscores Wolfforth’s dedication to maintaining a high standard of professionalism while preparing for the next phase of the community’s growth.
